Tiger Woods will return to tour this week for the US Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California. Woods has been sidelined for the past two months after undergoing surgery on his left knee, and now he is looking for his 14th Major Golf Championship. Jack Nicklaus holds the most Majors in golf with 18 and many experts predict Wood to surpass the Golden Bear.
Tiger has admitted to not being 100-percent heading into play, as he is experiencing soreness during practice rounds. But he has had good success at this latest US Open course during his career. The Buick Invitational is a PGA tournament played at Torrey Pines and in the past, Woods has captured 6 titles on the course. He also set a tournament-record by winning the Buick by 8 strokes in January.
The odds on Tiger Woods winning the US Open have moved dramatically this week, and early money has not been on Tiger thus far in the wagering. The number-one player in the world has moved from a 6 to 5 favorite to a 3 to 1 favorite. San Diego native Phil Mickelson has seen early money moving from 8 to 1 and now 5 to 1 in the betting. Mickelson has won 3 Major Golf Championships and owns 3 victories in the Buick.....
