The Spurs did a good job in game 1 of limiting the Lakers to only 89 points in game 1 which was 21 points below their playoff average. Unfortunately, They couldn’t make an outside shot converting on only 5-20 from 3 in defeat. The Spurs got back on defense and did a good job of making the Lakers work for shots. I know the Spurs are getting criticized for their lack of offense in the second half but I don’t expect the Spurs to alter their defense in search of offense. The Lakers are an explosive team when you allow them to create space and run at you with numbers. The Spurs need to work the shot clock down, limit possessions and continue to make it a half court grinder. I expect Parker and Ginobilli to drive it more to the hole against the Lakers in game 2 but in no way will they make it a track meet. They are dead meat in a track meet against the Lakers. The Spurs got their tempo much earlier than I expected in this series. Play game 2 under 193.
