The Yankees been hit with the injury bug as catcher Jorge Posasda and third baseman Alex Rodriguez are out of action on the DL. Second baseman Robinson Cano is struggling mighty with bat hitting only .155. Yankee pitching was ripped in their midweek series with the Tigers giving up 20 earned runs in 3 games and getting swept as a result. Heading into their weekend series with Seattle, the Bronx Bombers are sitting 2 games under .500 and 4 games behind Tampa Bay, ya the Rays. Wow. The Indians are sitting around .500 and have had trouble generating offense this season, as they are 12th in the AL hitting .248 as a team this season. As a result Indians manager Eric Wedge has moved his DH Travis Hafner down in the batting order to 6th from his customary 3rd spot. Cliff Lee has been outstanding for the Indians this season sporting an ERA under 1 in 5 starts. All 5 starts this season for the lefty have been quality starts. Teams have gotten to Andy Pettitte in his last two starts as the veteran left hander has given up 9 earned runs and 15 hits in 11 innings pitched. Pettite isn't fooling batters this season as teams are batting .289 against him.
